Dear Photograph,
I would spend time listening to stories of her youth, the family diaspora from this house and moments of silence. such as this, hearing her supplicate.
Dadima was unostentatious, patient and indomitable. She taught me to be all of these things.
The house isn’t the same since she left. There is decay and emptiness. It is as if the house died with her.
I am sorry I never made it back in time to keep my promise.
I am sorry I never got to say goodbye.
I am sorry you didn’t hear what you mean for me.
When I finally came back all I could do was cry.
I sat in that chair and cried.
I stood in the veranda and cried.
I stood over her grave and cried.
I miss you.
Your grandson,
M

Manquin for Harpers Bazaar April 1952

Love this look - if only the times were different and we had an occasion to wear this look.

I SCORED this bag (not this specific one, this style) for an amazing $500 LESS than the $1095 listed for this one.  So excited!!

This is a great article.  I was particularly interested in Serial stickers. Stickers can be found in the left bottom corner of the bag. Serial stickers were introduced in 1984 and indicate the model and year of the bag. Six digit serial numbers show the bag was made from 1984-1986. Seven digit serial numbers, the bag was made between 1986 and 2004. Eight digit serial numbers, the bag was made 2005-present.

I have this Dolce & Gabbana corset dress.  It was the first item I bought after I landed I very high paying job at a start-up several years ago.  That company did not last.  I wore the dress only once and it cost a fortune. It is pretty though.  I have the matching shoes.
